What is NOWSTARS?

NOWSTARS stands for New Organization of Work in Self-employment, Temporary Agency, Academia, and Retail in Sweden.

NOWSTARS is a research program with the purpose of investigating how insecurity in working life, various types of employment contracts, and union membership relate to working conditions, work-related attitudes and behaviors, and health and well-being among gainfully employed women and men in the Swedish labor market. This program features occupations with varying demands on skills and competencies in both the public and private sectors.

Toll of pandemic on entrepreneurs' mental health revealed in new report 2021-04-12 A global study by King’s Business School into the impact of the pandemic on entrepreneurs’ businesses and mental well-being has found that stress worsened during the crisis and that life satisfaction was on average 12% lower than before the pandemic. NOWSTARS has collected the Swedish data for the study.
NOWSTARS first publication 2020-12-11 A meta-analys on which much of the coming research will build has now been published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.
